What is DAEP? DAEP stands for Disciplinary Alternative Education Program.
About Face serves elementary DAEP students from all over EPISD. Placements in DAEP occur only after due process is followed and a hearing has been held. Parents have the right to appeal a hearing officer's decision at a higher level within 10 days. Unless a decision is overturned at a second or third level hearing, all placements must be served before a student may enroll at another school. DAEP students do not mix with students in the general education population, and are prohibited from going onto any other EPISD property during their placement. |
PBIS & Social-Emotional Growth |
About Face uses Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports to teach children to make responsible decisions and to take responsibility for their actions. Our teachers excel by building respectful relationships with their students, and by doing so they help repair self-esteem and self-confidence along the way. Expectations are taught clearly and desired behavior is modeled on a daily basis.

Academic Growth |
The teachers at About Face follow the EPISD curriculum, including interventions to fill in academic gaps. Our goal is that when students leave our DAEP they are stronger, more confident students overall, with higher achievement in all academic areas.
